PSA (Public Service Announcments) Reflection

Public Service Announcements can make a difference because they influence your mind (in a good way). And if you follow their example you can make a good impact on the environment. Also, due to the fact that it is visual and public the PSA gives you a message; to support the message it usually gives you an important info. For example a good PSA could be against global warming, or racism, and/or healthy life style. That is how PSAs make a difference.

Reflection on Poetry

What is Poetry?

Poetry is a piece of literature written in meter; verse.  It also is  a prose that resembles a poem in some respect, as in form or sound. Definition from http://www.thefreedictionary.com . For me, poetry is a short or long story in the form of a song, you can express your feeling in poem.

Poetic devices

There are many poetic devices, such as:

*        Assonance

*        Personification

*        Metaphor

*        Simile

*        Onomatopoeia

*        Repetition

*        Rhyme

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID [ Book report Reflection ]

   Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one New York' s best seller...

   This hilarious diary talks about a very strange, wimpy guy, who with his friend are having funny events. In this book  Greg [wimpy kid ] is having very strange ideas:

1. Ski lift from school to home
2. Sleep after school and do HW during nigh
3. Time Capsule with in it $30 (he after opened it and took them)

   Greg has a big brother [ Rodrick ] and a small kindergarten brother [Manny ]. As you know all mums don' t want that the little kid hears bad word. For one time Greg and Rodrick had an idea which they both agreed: invent a language for saying bad words. For example for saying dork or jerk they would say fork!

   For English class we were supposed to present our Glog about the book we read. My book' s title was: '' DIARY OF A WIMPY KID ". I think my glog was very good because it had many types of colors, it had my voice saying a piece of paper that Greg (main character) said and it had a part of the book in it. If I was the teacher I would give the Glog 8.5/10. This book is very funny and makes you laugh a lot. Now in stores there  is the film of it and explaining you all pages which are in the book. I chose this book because  these hilarious events are happening to a boy in 6 th grade. . . 
    I wonder if there is a boy in 6 th grade just like him. I reccomend this book to all people that enjoy having fun during the story.

ISLAND PICTURE

     At the beginning of November, for humanities, our class created an island!! We needed to include physical features, cultural facts, tourists attraction, entertainment, lakes, governments, the location, scale, legend and also including flag.

     The government of my island is a democracy, republic island. The president changes every 6 year, while for the head of the government changes every 2 years. Our government is friendly and cares about animals and poor people.

     Agriculture is one important thing which is on Young Land. We plant:

          - Wheat

          - Vegetables ( Carrots, Potatoes and also depending on season )

          - Fruits ( Strawberries, Apples, Cherries )
     The flag is divided in three: 1 vertically and 2 horizontally. In the vertically one is colored blue, while the bottom horizontally is colored green and the top it has 3 stars.

     Money in our country are called DRIN. 1 DRIN equals to € 5 so 3 DRINS equals to € 15. UNDER- DRINS are like saying cents. You can understand how much an UNDER- DRINS by how many little mountains are in it. Sellers in Young Land also accept Euros and Pounds.

     There are many attractions in Young Land:

          - Sunny Side Building

          - Rock n' Roll Quarter

          - Mr. Cafiero' s House

          - Paradise

          - Ancient Greek Temple

     Entertainments are surfing, diving and swim races are summer entertainments. Ice skating, snowboarding and skiing are great entertainment for winter. Night entertainments are disco, night clubs and cinema...

     Language in Young Land is very similar to Italian it is just taking off some letters. To say Dish in proper Italian you say 'PIATTO' while in YoungLandian you say 'PIATT'.Dog- Cane- Iane.

     The history of this island is very complicated but it does exitst. Every person in this country has to know how the discovers and date. 
      The name of Young Lands has a meaning: in 300 years in the island has never lived a person which died in the island over the age 50. So since 50 is a young age they decided to name it because of this reason.  

              This is my Fantastic Island named YOUNG LAND
